As a business owner, a large part of your job is finding ways to wow your customers and keep them not only buying from you but also telling others how great your products and services are.
Here are 6 tips you can use to wow your customers on a regular basis.
Remember their names.
In this world of online ordering and automated customer service, business often has a tendency towards the impersonal. You can please your customers and even make your business stand out from the rest by making a point of addressing them by name, even if you are communicating online rather than in person.
This lets your customers know they’re not just another dollar in your business bank account. It lets them know you consider them worth remembering.
Take an interest.
So your customer has a birthday coming up or a wedding anniversary? Maybe he or she will soon celebrate a child’s graduation or deal with the bittersweet emotions surrounding a child’s first day of school.
Congratulate the customer or find other ways to let him or her know you care. Let’s say your customer has a hobby or special interest. Find a way to tie something about your product or service into that hobby/interest. Even a post or video related to such an interest can encourage your customer to remember you fondly.
Provide more than expected.
Of course, you will always offer your customers the very best products and services, but what if it’s something that doesn’t come easily? If it’s a product, special order it for your customer. If it’s a service, go the extra mile to provide it. If it’s something you want offer but don’t know how to accomplishment, learn. And if learning really isn’t in your best interest, or your customer’s, provide a referral to someone who can get the job done well.
Your customer will remember that you went above and beyond to help, and come back to you when he or she needs something else.
Value your customer’s time.
Who’s not pressed for time in today’s world? Even those who aren’t dealing with daily hustle and bustle have things they’d rather do instead of waiting for you to provide your product or service.
Respect your customers’ time, just as you want them to respect yours. Make it a point to be quick and efficient, whether you’re shipping products, completing contracted work, or answering customer service questions.
Stay in Touch.
Are your products top quality? Is your service top-notch? That’s a good start, but if you don’t stay in touch, even the most enthusiastic customers will forget you. Interact with your audience on a frequent basis. Find out where they spend time, especially online, and make sure you’re there too.
Be an innovator.
Don’t allow your offerings to become stale. Remain open to new ways to make your customers’ lives easier and better. Always look for ways to boost efficiency and set yourself apart from the completion.
Use the above tips to keep your business fresh in your customers’ minds, but don’t forget to ask them what they want too. One of the best ways to make your customers say “wow!” is to give them exactly what they ask for.
