We recently covered what an Instagram shoutout is and how it can help your business. If another Instagram user is giving you a shoutout, you’re pretty much good to go as long as you have a compelling profile set up. But what about when you’re the one who will give the shoutout?
In that case, you need to know how to take a screenshot for Instagram and then upload it to your account. Here’s how to make it happen:
How to Take a Screen Shot for Instagram
- On an iPad or iPhone: Find the Home and Power buttons and press them simultaneously. This saves your screen shot to your Camera Roll. The Sleep and Home buttons also work for taking screen shots.
- On an android phone or device: Press and hold the button that turns your sound down and the Power button at the same time. If that doesn’t work, press the Power and Home keys simultaneously. Check for your screen shot in your photo gallery.
- From your Windows computer: Hold the Start (Windows Logo) and Print Screen buttons down at the same time to take a screen shot and send it to your image folder. If that doesn’t work, hold down the Alt and Print Screen keys at the same time.
- From Your Mac Computer: Hold down the Command, Shift and 4 keys, then press the space bar. Click to take a screen shot of your window, and then save your image to your desktop.
How to Upload Your Screen Shot
Open your Instagram app. Choose “Camera” and then “Browse” to view your image. Adjust your image in the app so that only the portion you want to appear remains in the square crop window. Finally, click “Next” and then “Done” to finish uploading.
